Middle school exploratory classes are divided into six hexes. Students who have art during Hex 6 start on Monday, April 21st and continue through the end of the school year. Here is a summary of what they will be doing in art during the hex:
8th Grade: These students study the Pop Art movement of the 1950s. Prominent artists include Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Wayne Thiebaud. They experiment with different media including pastel, printmaking, drawing, and Photoshop.
7th Grade: These students experience a wide range of artistic techniques and media including clay, acrylic painting, traditional drawing, and some digital media.
6th Grade: These students create ceramics projects, mixed media collages, and learn to draw caricatures.
