Students enrolled in Advanced Placement Studio Art are typically juniors and seniors who have completed all four prerequisite art classes. They complete portfolio in either Drawing or 2-D Design, which includes two distinct sections: Breadth (artwork that demonstrates mastery of a range of techniques and media) and Concentration (a collection of work that arises from an in-depth exploration into one theme).
Portfolios are submitted online to apstudio.ets.org. They are then evaluated by a jury and awarded a score of 1-6. Portfolios are due May 9, 2014.
AP students receive college credit for this class.
